How it all began
Calibra Czech pet food brand is based on the joint work of veterinarians who were (and still are) enthusiastic colleagues and friends.
At the end of the 1990s, Dr Jaromír Koudela, a progressive veterinarian and manager, succeeded in establishing a veterinary distribution company of Noviko. This company was the result of the enthusiasm and joint work of seven friends, five of whom were former fellow students at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Brno. It was an extremely creative group that grew as fast as the company itself.
Pets mean everything to Calibra
Friends (sometimes even the best), family members, mates, soul mates... in short, all the positive synonyms you can think of. At Calibra, we spend a lot of time with pets, both for business and pleasure. That's why the health of your dogs and cats always comes first for us. Pets are our greatest motivation as well as counsellors and critics.
Further development
The Calibra brand has undergone significant and successful development. Its portfolio currently includes a super-premium pet food line and the popular Joy treats line. We are proud that we can also offer a veterinary diet line, which sets high standards in terms of compositional quality.
We from Calibra team are proud that we are exporting our products to over 20 countries all over the world as well as that our international teams adhere to the same values and eagerness to work as at the end of 1990’s in Brno. Thus, we are still striving to develop top-quality products for pets, now also worldwide.
The Calibra brand
The idea of creating their own pet food brand dates back to 2001, and although this idea is not particularly inventive, the main difference was a clear vision. Caring for pets and their health has always been the driving force for this young team of veterinarians; therefore, the company founders have had a clear vision from the start. There are many favourable products at reasonable prices. However, it is desirable to focus on quality and thus promote a healthy and long life of pets together with their owners.
This is possible thanks to the coordinated co-operation between teams of specialists in nutrition and animal health, laboratory diagnostics, veterinarians with practical experience, technologists and production specialists, designers, etc.. Balanced Calibra formulas are the stable result of excellent and long-term co-operation between leading specialists and universities.
